The Campus Squirrels

I am one of those people that stops to take a picture of a squirrel (or a snail, or a bird, or really anything random) in the smack dab middle of anywhere. Penn’s campus squirrels have been remarkably photogenic during my time here.

My squirrel photographing obsession started early in the year when I captured that magnificent squirrel with the bagel. I was on my way home from a video shooting session, when out of the corner of my eye I saw a squirrel scurrying past with something large in its mouth. I looked, and there he (or she) was, running with a whole (dried out) bagel.

Since that day, I’ve been on the look out for more squirrel moments. Here are some of the other one’s I’ve witnessed. (The aluminum squirrel is 3 different pictures, he was licking the aluminum foil clean. I wonder what was on it.)

In the winter they were quite plump, but now that spring’s here, they’re looking much leaner. I guess they’re ready for bathing suit season. 🙂

Coincidentally, one of my favorite french words is écureuil (squirrel).
